Where to start??
Firstly a massive thank you to all the marshall’s who stood out in the freezing cold last Sunday, I hope you all survived the snowy conditions, with out you all the race could not have gone ahead. Big cheer to our neighbours the Puma’s
With a start time of 10am it was into Shelf Park for the placing of the security flag, meaning we could now leave our bags in the middle of field in the safe knowledge that our QRC banner would protect our valuables, after the usual team photo’s it was time to head the start point.
Off we went with one and a half laps of the football pitch to thin the crowds, we exited the Park and into the woods, down the steps and up the hill, with a last minute route change due to over night frost we exited left and onto Green Lane, reaching Village Sreet runners took the track leading to Judy Woods, unfortunately at this point Jo Horan came a cropper with a badly twisted ankle, luckily for her there was no shortage of male runners queuing up to offer their assistance, with the bragging rights going to a runner from Todmorden, who also was covered in blood, many thanks to him we hope you’re both OK, best wishes also to Terri who pulled out injured at the halfway point.
Back into Judy Woods at the Kissing Gate, slushy mud, steps and water were waiting for all as we descended the steep hill before gazing up at the climb back into Shelf Park.
With Adrian Holiday(Crossgates) taking the victory, our own Tom Collinge had a superb race finishing 3rd ahead of Gavin Mulholland. Alistair Gate also having fine run finishing in 8th, a fantastic performance from both. Well done to who braved the snow from QRC and lets put in another good turn out at Skipton on the 11th February.
