As expected, England Athletics confirmed that there was no exemption for club running to the lockdown rules. We now cannot meet as a club until the current rules are lifted on the 2nd December. We will keep you informed as the guidelines change. Remember that we are only allowed to meet for exercise with one other person during this second lockdown.

Andrew Dovernor has e-mailed everyone following the recent update about
membership fees for 2020-21 confirming that, whilst QRC would like everyone to
renew as soon as possible, if you feel that you are unable to do so in the
current climate then England Athletics are maintaining their site and
registration until 31st August 2020.

Finally, before we let you
get back to quizzes / running / setting your alarm for Joe Wicks, we’ll be
using this down-time at the club to give the website and social media some
digital polish and also coming up with some great ideas for the next year of

Today saw off the final race of the West Yorkshire Winter League. Another great turn out by Queensbury and well done to everyone who ran through the series. Queensbury finished an impressive 4th overall out of a field of 11 teams.
Well done to the eight runners who took part in the West Yorkshire 5, particularly those who also completed a Park Run the day before. Described by Maria Rhodes as ‘good, hard fun’, this is a local race organised by the West Yorkshire Fire Service and Bradford Airedale. Chris Williams earned a fine 2nd place to Jonathan Johnson (Harrogate Harriers). The women’s race was won by UK Net Runner, Hannah Oldroyd in 31.11.
Queensbury Beginners’ ladies and gents, WELL DONE!!!! I am SO proud of you ALL..each and EVERY one of you!! Last Thursday evening was the experience of a lifetime for me..it was a huge pleasure to journey with you, and my regular runner helpers, Carl, Craig and Graham, echo that very sentiment! Your enthusiasm was amazing!!..even after that “gentle” run/jog/walk!! Together we can, indeed, achieve a huge amount…you will all surely do so given your incredible keenness to embrace outdoor exercise in our beautiful local countryside!We made a lot of people notice what was going on!!..I think we have started a local “fashion”!! I can’t wait for next Thursday’s session!! THANK YOU. all of you..you have more than made my day.
Not long to go to the first of 10 weekly training sessions for our beginners’ group! I’ve asked for fine weather to be provided this Thursday evening! I’ll be at Queensbury Celtic Football Club’s Pit Lane headquarters from 1830 onwards. We will meet up in the clubhouse for registration, then, after some gentle mobilising exercises, take a 5 minute walk to the nice and flat Old Guy Road for fully supervised walking/jogging/running, for roughly one mile or 15 minutes. Please note that a lockable changing room will be provided each week, along with showers. See you on Thursday!
