Weekend Report
Queensbury Runners were entered into various races across the weekend. Stainland Trail Race in it’s second year, proved popular and attracted a larger, stronger field than last year. Queensbury had six runners taking part, Chris Williams was first back in 7th place (43:28), next was Pete Hughes (47:21), Mick Coe (50:59), Chris Rushworth (54:44), Jo Horan (56:53) & Graham Jowet (58:46). Bradford 10k 2014
Clear but windy conditions for the Bradford 10k this weekend made the flat route a little more testing and hindered some attempts at personal bests, but the course does lend itself to a quick 10k time even if the route is a little dull – mainly along Canal Road towards Shipley & back. An excellent overall turnout of around 1,500 runners made the event a good and competitive field although last years winner Tesfaye Debele was clear winner again in this years race in31:42, followed by Scott Harrington of Otley, 33:21 and Kevin Ogden of Spen AC in 33:41. First lady wasDanielle Hodgkinson, coming in an impressive 22nd overall in 35:32. The first 20 positions were all closely contested with a good turn out from all the elite local runners. First back for Queensbury was the vastly improving Andy Stott in 42:48, followed closely by Richard Brook in 43:05, then came Phil Robinson 44:22, Graham Jowett 46:34, Steve Wilby 53:43 & Andrew Tempest-Mitchell
