Sir Titus Salt Summer Trot-Half Marathon 21st July 2018

Saltaire got its name from Titus Salt, a successful weaver of beautiful fabrics that were used to make expensive dresses for the ladies of England. Titus moved his woollen mill from the centre of Bradford to just outside the city on the River Aire. This location along the river was important because it gave his mill access to what is now known as the Leeds-Liverpool Canal and to the railway.

With varying distances to race at the running festival Keith Hayes opted for the half marathon with the route up and down the canal bank from Saltaire, the race distance a little over the 21k at 23k meant Keith ran a respectable time of 2:16:55 finishing in 30th place.

Well done keith, keep up the good training.
