This is a very beautiful, but very demanding Category A fell race with around 1000ft of climb in 3.5 miles. It features stoney trails, boggy ground, steep climbs and technical descents, several “wet feet” stream crossings, tussocks, ravines, waterfalls and steep stone steps …. with a fast, runnable downhill finish.
The 1st running of the event hosted by Halifax Harriers saw 60 runners take on the course, a mix up with the route markers led to some confusion of the race route but I’m sure Nick Small and his team will learn from these issue’s and the race will become more popular in the future.
The race was eventually won by Ben Crowther of Halifax, with our very hunk Tom C. finishing joint 2nd after a stewards enquiry.
J2nd Tom Collinge 27:47
59th Andy Smith 51:53
Well done to you both.
