This evening was the first race of the John Carr Series. The series is hosted by the Saltaire Striders and is set in the grounds of the Yorkshire Water treatment plant near Esholt. It’s a relatively flat series and a good opportunity to get a PB. The races are held for 3 consecutive Wednesdays and you don’t need to enter all 3 so if you fancy it you can ever race 2, which is next Wednesday, here https://racebest.com/races/john-carr-series-race-2
It’s also a chip recorded race so times are accurate.
This evening we had 12 QRC’ers run the race. A few got close to their PB and a couple beat it.
Stacey Cleal and Neil Windle broke their PB comfortably but show off Andy Smith smashed his by over 3 minutes. A record he previously set at the John Carr series last year.
Also a huge well done to local heart throb, Tom Collinge, who came home 6th out of a group of insanely strong front runners.
