Hot Cross Bun Duathlon 1st April 2018

The inaugural Hot Cross Bun Duathlon took place over in Keighley last Sunday morning. The race consisting of a 5km run, 20km cycle and a final 5km run, which was organised by Sue Ryder Manorlands with all proceeds going to this wonderful charity.

Starting in Victoria Park the run route headed towards the beautiful grounds of Cliffe Castle before turning and heading back into the park for the bike leg, once out of the centre of Keighley participants made their way up Halifax Rd and taking the right hand turn at Crossroads and dropping down into Haworth where the cobbles of the main street were waiting, from here it was onto the roads around Penistone hill, before dropping into Oxenhope and then back upto Crossroads, joining the outward route and a nice downhill back into Keighley (more commonly known as Cavetown) before returning Victoria Park for the last disipline the final 5km run.

Having dropped out of the race weeks previously, it was left to the 7 hardy soles to fly the QRC colours and they all did fantastic, led home by David Hunt finishing 4th overall, with Andy Dovernor not far behind in 7th place (glad you found the right route today).
