If you thought it was wet and windy in Bradford yesterday, spare a thought for 3 of our runners Ben Clare, Mick Coe and Chris Williams who decided the best way to spend a morning in the rain was to compete in a fell race around Heptonstall in the upper Calder Valley. Taking in mixture of steep sided wooded valleys, upland pasture and pathless moorland. The race is classed as Cat B, 15.4 miles long with 3170 feet of climbing, navigational skills required, with a course only partially marked and full kit required as is the norm in fell races. Basically meaning ‘TOUGH AS’
All 3 runners did exceptionally well just to complete this gruelling race considering the conditions with Chris Williams leading the trio home in 2:32:52 (67th), closely followed by Ben in 2:34:50 (73rd) followed by Mick in 2:44:48 (111th).
Well done to you all.
