Halifax Marathon 30Th June 2019

From leaving Dean Clough runners have their 1st climb within 100 metres up to Shroggs Road, before steadily climbing to the bottom of Brackenbed Lane, up they went again turning right at the top, then left and onto Moor End Road, which again is a tough climb to the top, following Moor End Road until turning right onto Clough Lane and the sprint through Mixenden, out of Mixy up Mill Lane taking a left onto White Gate, left at the top and slight downhill before a quick right at the bottom and up Rocks Lane, it is roughly here at the 6/7mile mark that Ned Hell Rd awaits them, ready to dish out some more punishment, then passing the Ragalds, onto Roper Lane, left onto Swales Moor Road, right onto Claremont Rd, down Mill Lane and back to Dean Clough.

Martin Firth and Joanna Lockwood were our only runners this year, but they did superbly on such a tough course with Martin storming the Marathon in an incredible 3:27:52 and 2nd place overall with Joanna finishing as 3rd lady in super quick 1:56:16 (Strava) in the half distance and a PB by 7 seconds

Well done to you both, great stuff.
