The race started at Potterow, and finished at Pinkie Playing Fields, The route promised to take runners through the heart of the city, as they passed the likes of Greyfriars Bobby, The National Museum of Scotland, and the Scottish National Gallery. Runners also passed through Princes Street Gardens, and were able to enjoy the views of the historic Edinburgh Castle
Entrants had the choice of distances ranging from the full Marathon, Half, Relay, 10k and 5k.
