Dark Peaks Ultra 6th Oct 2018

Some people are never happy, not content with running the Yorkshire off road marathon a month earlier Lee Hipwell decided to run even further by entering the Dark Peaks Ultra a 30 mile race over tough terrain in the Peak District.

Starting from the village of Hope, the race took runners into the heart of the Peak District national park, where the total elevation  was well over 7000ft!!

Running along the iconic Pennine way runners were soon to be greeted with some brutal climbs, high ridge lines and fast technical descending, with the time of year and the nature of the course this certainly pushed everybody to their limits!!

Lee ran superbly finishing in 16th place in a time of 6:45:11, well done Lee and we expected the 50 miler next year.

I’m assured Lee is there somewhere
