Weekend Report

Anna Smith finished 4th Lady in the very tough Pendle Cloughs fell race on Saturday. The race is 14 miles with 4101 feet of climbing!!

Darren had a good second place in the Bradford parkrun, just 4 seconds behind 1st in a fast 18:22.

The ever popular 10 mile Bluebell Trail Race attracted a big turn out with double figures from Queensbury. Excellent weather and a tough course featuring the infamous Trooper Lane brought out Top performances from Peter Hughes claiming 1st place in V55 (1:16:41) and Mick Coe taking a big chunk off last years time and finishing in 1:21:00. Debutants to the race Curtis Brennan (1:24:41) and Karl Chamberlain (1:26:48) also put in solid performances. Steve Jones (1:39:15) also made the trip over from York to remind himself what hills are!

Lee Hipwell ‘ran’ the Mad Monk obstacle race in Derby. A 10k multi challenge race including a swim in the river Derwent! Finishing 99th out of 966 in 1:02:55. Full Results

Weekend Report

Another busy weekend for Queensbury RC and another excellent set of results, starting on Saturday with the Three Peaks Fell Race. Martin Firth completed his 41st Marathon in Manchester on Sunday morning. Finishing 2nd in his age category and comfortably under the 3 hour mark in 2:55:14. Well done Martin, cracking run! Full results: http://www.racetecresults.com/results.aspx?CId=38&RId=421

 

The Bradford 10k featured Carl Heron (40:27) who was 1st place in his age category and his son Lucien (54:18), Chris Williams (34:41) who ran a pb to finish 6th, Phil Robinson (43:22) and Craig Richardson (45:43) and Helen Collins (1:07:19). The YVAA race at Honley was also well attended with Darren Midgley (5th) finishing in 42:26 and 1st M35, Peter Hughers also 1st in his category and 9th overall in 43:14, Mick Coe (45:13), Karl Chamberlain (50:02), Graham Jowett (52:52), Steve Wilby (61:41) and Anna Smith finishing 6th lady and 2nd place in her category in 52:21, certainly a 1st for Queensbury! After 2 races this leaves Queensbury an impressive 3rd in the 1st 4 to count table and 6th overall showing how well attended the series is by the club. Weekend Report

A busy weekend for Queensbury Runners and some excellent results, as follows:

Darren & Curtis took part in the new Over The Odda 10k, an off road race starting from Hawksworth School. Darren finished 9th in 46:10 with Curtis not far behind in 23rd position, full results: http://www.ukresults.net/2013/odda.html

Ben Clare finished an amazing 7th in the Yorkshire Warrior, a tough 10 mile obstacle course with challenges involving ice baths, stinging nettles, log carrying amonst others! Full results: http://www.yorkshirewarrior.com/times.html
