I think the website sums up the race perfectly.
Both race routes sample the natural rural terrain of the pretty landscape which surrounds our picturesque village. For 33 years, the event has famously attracted a complimentary mix of club runners and leisure runners from across the region.
The start and finish area is located within the Burton Leonard Primary School grounds – allowing a great location for our finishing arch and plenty of space for warming up and spectators.
The 10K is proudly supported by our famously ‘substantial’ and suitably challenging 3km fun run. The 3K course (redesigned in 2016) is an excellent opportunity for competitive under-15 junior runners to compete over a challenging cross-country course. The event is also open to all ages, families and supporters to enjoy an undulating rural dash.
All proceeds support our local school and local village events including the annual Burton Leonard Feast and sports day. A huge and appreciative thank you to our sponsors.
Another big well done to ‘Stormin’ Steve Brook on supporting another local race. Steve stormed around in 55:28 finishing 152nd and as 2nd MV70, (just beaten by David Seaman)
Well done Steve.
