Good evening all..from very snowy Queensbury!! Having just been for an 8 mile “run”, and checked tomorrow’s forecast, I’m having to cancel our Beginners’ Groups training sessions due tomorrow evening (Thursday 22 Jan) Once again, it’s down to health and safety considerations – the pavements are almost impossible to run on in many places, and side roads still have ice beneath this fresh snow (same with many pavements too).Tomorrow will barely be above freezing, so no thaw is in immediate prospect!

On Sunday, It’s the 3rd race (of 5) in the West Yorkshire Winter League – a multi-terrain 4.7 mile course around Cliffe Castle, Keighley, starting at 10am, with parking at nearby UKA Academy (former Greenhead Grammar School)..details are on this site .http://www.wymedia.co.uk/wywl/ EVERYONE is welcome to come along and have a go at it, whatever your standard..it’s free! Club members finishing positions count for our club, whereas non-members (who would run as “guests”, therefore no need to wear a club vest) would not count….but would get useful experience! There’s food and drinks on sale afterwards at the academy, and a decent raffle.Take care! Martin
