Mike Peel and Anna Smith both travelled over to Ackworth on Easter Monday, obviously to run off their Easter Eggs. The 13.1 mile course is an undulating but scenic one lap rural route. It is run on generally quiet country roads and lanes other than for a short section (0.3 mile) of the A628, a 0.86 mile outward section and 1.5 mile return section of the A639. With partial road closures, the race runs along the edge of High and Low Ackworth, through the small historic village of Wentbridge (both outward and return sections), the fringe of Darrington and the hamlet of Hundhill. There’s a bit of a hill in Wentbridge on the outward loop and for the last stretch up Sandy Gate Lane!
Both ran very well in what turned out to be a sunny day

Excellent running both of you
