On what was the hottest day of the year some 225 runners completed the Helen Windsor 10k in temperatures approaching 30 degrees with high humidity. These conditions did affect some runners and caused a few to withdraw before completing the course but all the Queensbury runners completed the race. First home for Queensbury was Chris Williams who came third overall in a time of 36.49 a great time considering the heat followed home by.

Seven Queensbury runners raced at the fourth Yorkshire vets race at Alwoodley a total of 231 runners were there for the evening grand prix the conditions were warm and humid and the course is undulating and goes through woods and fields with plenty of tree routes to trip you up if you are not careful all runners got through unscathed.
Zoe Hipwell was the only lady runner representing our club she came in 60th out of 94 ladies in a time off 45.08 well done to Zoe.

Gary Morritt completed the Lindley 10k today in a time of 101-32 running five minutes faster than his last 10k Gary who has been training really well and enjoying his runs with Queensbury is showing great improvements and going five minutes faster shows that training and perseverance are paying off well done.
Two Queensbury runners tackled the Reservoir Bogs Fell Race the up and coming Matt Fielding ran a great race in a time of 1-06-52 and finished 22nd overall and Lee Hipwell who is getting faster each year completed the race in 1-20-34 and was 53rd overall the race was quite tricky with misty conditions on the tops making it difficult to see causing quite a few runners to miss the check points and ended up running much further than the rest Matt came in with mud all over the place and Lee finished amazingly clean he must have leaped over all the bogs well done to both runners.
Three Queensbury runners braved the hilly Puma Pudsey 10k on Sunday this was the 25th anniversary of the race.
Richard Brook 48-44 93rd overall
Neil Windle 49.14 105th overall
Andy Smith 105-21 379th overall
A big well done to all three for getting round a very tough course.
Two Queensbury runners raced at the Wharfdale Half Marathon this Half is a tough race with plenty of hills and a strong head wind the mastiles hill is bad enough but when you are running into 50mph winds it is nearly impossible to run but both completed the race Mick Coe in 1-49-47 and Matt Fielding in 2-8-00 a fantastic effort by both runners.
Andrew Smith ran the Bolton Brow Burner in a time of 1-14-26 and before that Andrew ran at the new Horton Park Park Run in a time of 31-56 both these runs came after Andrew ran in the John Carr race series all these races are amazing when you consider Andrew started running at QRC under the guidance of Martin Firth the beginners Group Leader some twelve months ago. He has lost four stones in weight and started to build up his fitness Andrew is proving that running and determination gets results so a big well done.
