A big thanks to Baildon for hosting the 1st race of this years series, a well marshalled and well organised event with fantastic showers well done to you all.
A damp but warmish morning saw a record 577 runners line up for the 10.30 start. To avoid the congested start of last year, this years event started on the edge of the 18th fairway which helped to stretch the crowds out enabling runners to find their momentum and get into their stride. A hilly and sometimes technical course meant full concentration was required at all times to avoid any nasty falls.
All in all a tough 1st race to start the season off with a bang, roll on the 1st December when the hills get really serious and we visit Dewsbury and their killer hill just when you think you’ve finished.
