Berlin Marathon 29Th Sept 2019

Kenenisa Bekele missed out on the world record by just two seconds as he completed a remarkable comeback to win the Berlin Marathon on Sunday, crossing the line in 2:01:41, in the women’s race Ashete Bekere won in a sprint finish against her compatriot Mare Dibaba in 2:20:41.

But never mind those 2, not to be outdone Julie Hepworth and Gillian Jago had fantastic races with Julie managing a sub 4 hour PB of 3:56:52 followed over the line by Gillian 4:30:09.

A brilliant achievement by both of you, I hope the alcohol free months were worth it, well done girls.

Congratulations.
