Pete Hughes and Andy Stott ran in the Guiseley Gallop on Easter Sunday. Pete Hughes took the honours with a 1st place V55 in 42:12, Andy Stott completed the undulating 10k in 48:23 as did Steve Wilby in 1:00:33. Overall winner was Tom Adams of Ilkley, showing his international class with almost a 2 minute lead over Otleys in form Scott Harrington.
The Great Northern Trail Triathlon, a new & local event was also run on Easter Sunday. An 800m swim in Queensbury pool, followed by a tricky decent on the bike down the notorious, pot holed Station Road at the start of a 15k bike ride along the Great Northern Trail, Thornton Road & Cragg Road and finished with a fast 5km run along the Great Northern Trail & back.
Chris Williams made this his first triathlon and was well supported by many of the club, out watching on the trail. Chris finished 5th overall in a time of 1:03:49, especially pleased with the time considering a mechanical problem on Station Road, one of many for the day, with a number of unfortunate punctures. Andy Dovernor, who has run with Queensbury before but is a member of Wakefield Triathlon club finished 3rd in 01:00:48. First lady, Angela Hannon, was an impressive 8th overall, finishing in 01:34:08.
