Slaithwaite Slog 23rd Feb 2019

Slaithwaite, locally Slawit (Old Norse: Timber-fell clearing), is a village within the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, in West Yorkshire. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it lies in the Colne Valley, lying across the River Colne and the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, approximately 5 miles southwest of Huddersfield. 

Starting in the Yorkshire village of Slaithwaite an out and back race along the lovely Huddersfield canal.

A lovely race with distances from 5k ,10k , half marathon, 20 miles and marathon . This flat course will be perfect for those wanting a PB. Homemade cakes, a bespoke medal and our Yorkshire goody bag await all finishers.

Well done to Joanne Punt for taking on this punishing challenge, Jo completed the 20 mile race in a time of 6:06:53. Well done Jo a fantastic achievement and hopefully one that will give your fellow runners some encouragement to try a spot of racing.
