The 24th Auld Lang Syne fell race once again took place on New Years Eve, a tough (cat B short length) fell race starting and finishing at Pennistone Hill in Haworth, a route taking runners from the Quarry up the lane towards Bronte Waterfalls before taking a right turn down the hill and up the other side, on to the trig point and back covering just shy of 6 miles with over 900ft of ascent.
This race and many like it have been organised by Dave + Eileen aka (woodentopsFR) for over 30 years and with this been their last race before retirement it seemed only fitting that Alistair Brownlee made an appearance in race he has won 4 times previoulsy, to race along side the hardy bunch that braved the cold winds.
With a top class field amongst the runners Alistair (Bingley) managed to seal the win ahead of 2nd place Carl Bell (Keswick) and 3rd place Max Wharton (CVFR).
QRC were well represented with Tom Collinge 1st home for us in 18th place.
