WYWL Dewsbury 26th Nov 2017

A great start by Tom

A great start to the series over in Dewsbury for this years WYWL, with over 1000ft of climbing and plenty of mud courtesy of the melting snow over the last few days, saw 28 of you turning up on a cold damp Sunday morning to join the other 11 clubs involved to make this 1st race a belter.

With Ben Mounsey absent it meant a good battle for the lead and with just over a mile to go Micheal Maylon (Baildon), Gavin Mulholland (Stainland) and Julian Hood (Skipton) were battling it out for the honours, with Micheal finally taking the victory finishing ahead of Gavin M with Julian in 3rd, followed by our very own Tom Collinge managing to take 4th place in the last half mile.

But it’s not all about the front runners, there was some good racing throughout the field by all of our runners wanting to prove and show off their training, that has been put in over the summer months.

Well done to all that ran and I hope your looking forward to our race on the 10th December. Don’t forget if you want to marshall or know any volunteers please get in touch with Dan, Bev or Joanne.
