If you want an introduction to off road running/fell running, there could be no better race to enter than the Bunny Runs in Haworth. These races, organised by Woodentops offer you the chance to test yourselves on gravel tracks and muddy climbs, at 4.8km long with just 100m of climbing they are well within reach of most abilities, don’t get me wrong they are not as easy as you may imagine given that the field consists of anybody aged 12 upwards and all are good club runners but as a short distance race and a relatively small amount of climbing, what have you got to lose.
The series consists of 3 races Starting at Dimples Lane Quarry on 3 consecutive Tuesday’s with the 1st race last night 4th April, the next on the 11th at 7.15pm and the 3rd the 18th at 7.30pm. Race HQ is the Old Sun Hotel, Haworth, 10mins from the start, where you need to register, pay your £2.50 race fee, where you will receive your race number and a cream egg.
With prize giving back race HQ afterwards along with free soup and bread you surely can’t get better value for money, plus you’ll get the chance to witness the sweet throwing in the pub, just try not to get hit by an Easter Egg.
