Red-Hot Toddy 10k 05/03/2017

On a cold blustery Sunday, 7 of our members braved the elements and travelled over to Todmorden for a 10k race. After a quick change in the bar and a team talk from the ever inspirational Peter Hughes (where it was decided we were to amble round) we headed out to the start in Centre Vale Park. The race started with 2 laps of the park followed by an incredibly steep climb up to Sourhall with a total ascent of 718ft within the 1st 4.5km. What followed can only be described as music to my ears with the 2nd half of the race downhill to Bacup Road and back along Rochdale Road, where we then headed back into the town centre passing the market and back into the park for a sprint finish. A fantastic race, very well organised and marshalled by Todmorden Harriers.
