Harriers v Cyclists

The end of November saw the annual competition of Harriers v. Cyclists. We were solely represented by the one and only Ben ‘Bullet’ Clare, lovingly named to mimic the infamous Manx Missile (Mark Cavendish). Ben earned his Cavendish-esque title one summer morning whilst cycling to meet the rest of us for a weekend bike ride. As this distant speck of a cyclist approached us at a lightening speed, Chris Williams commented

By ‘eck lads, tha’s not Mark Cavendish flyin’ up t’road, is it?! Ee-by-gum fellas, tha’s Ben Clare!

Ben crossed the finish line in a decent time of 50:26, earning him position 125 out of 278 competitors. Nice one!
