Beginners’ Group Progress – Thursday June 19

Once again, the Beginners’ Group was blessed with a beautiful summer’s evening for week 6 of the 10 week training course..and graced with just one hill!..but it was a LONG hill, stretching down onto the Great North Trail!! A dozen of our enthusiasts volunteered to run in the Intermediate Group, under the guidance of Craig and Karl, and had a steady run down Pit Lane, then onto the Great North Trail, reaching the base of Station Road, 2 miles from the club H/Q before re-grouping and then returning up “that hill” to the club H/Q…and did so most strongly and with determined style –  and without stopping to re-group!! Martin guided the 8 runners who preferred a “gentler” run, half way down the same hill – we then tackled the ascent carefully AND extremely enthusiastically, trying to make it as much fun as possible!! Both groups showed incredible courage and determination on one of our toughest local hills…and the rate of improvement in everyone was very evident. Such has been the immense enthusiasm and desire of the whole group that we have decided to extend the 10 week course INDEFINITELY!! …such has been the great success enjoyed so far! Thank you everyone and well done!! (from all at Queensbury Running Club, and ,especially, from Running Group Leader Martin!)
